Description
What is Tadalafil?
Tadalafil is the generic version of the Cialis®, one of the most popular erectile dysfunction treatments. It offers particularly long-lasting effects in comparison to the other treatment options available and can treat erectile dysfunction for up to 36 hours.
How to take it
For on-demand: take 10 mg or 20 mg at least 30 min before sex, max once daily; lasts up to ~36 hrs
For daily: 1 tablet once every day, ideally same time. Effects build after ~3–5 days. Sexual stimulation still required.

Potential side effects
For on demand: Headache, flushing, indigestion, back/muscle pain, nasal congestion, dizziness, nausea. Rare: prolonged erection or serious cardiovascular/vision/hearing problems.
For daily: Similar to on-demand tadalafil, but often less intense since lower doses; headache, indigestion, muscle/back pain, nasal congestion.
Interactions & precautions
PDE5 contraindications (nitrates, riociguat); caution with CV disease, low BP, liver/kidney issues.
Avoid nitrates, riociguat; tell prescriber about current meds (alpha-blockers, antihypertensives). Not suitable if serious heart disease.
Ingredients list (common)
- For on-demand:
- Active: tadalafil.
- Inactive:
e.g., lactose monohydrate, croscarmellose sodium, hydroxypropylcellulose, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, titanium dioxide, talc.
- For daily:
- Active: low-dose tadalafil
(e.g., 2.5 mg or 5 mg).
Inactives similar to other tadalafil tablets.
