Sterimar Hypertonic Congestion Relief Nasal Spray is a drug-free, preservative-free nasal spray made from natural seawater enriched with copper. It is designed to relieve nasal congestion caused by colds, flu, allergies, and hayfever, helping you to breathe more easily.

How It Works

This spray uses a hypertonic (higher salt concentration than the body’s natural fluids) seawater solution to draw excess fluid out of swollen nasal tissues, reducing congestion and clearing the nasal passages. The added copper helps to support the natural defences of the nasal lining. Because it contains no drugs or steroids, it works purely through its natural salt concentration.

Directions for Use

For adults and children aged 3 years and over: spray 1–2 times into each nostril as needed, up to 6 times per day. Blow your nose gently before use. Hold the spray upright, insert the nozzle into the nostril, and press the pump firmly while breathing in gently through the nose. Rinse the nozzle after use and replace the cap. This spray is not recommended for children under 3 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. Active Ingredients

• Natural hypertonic seawater (sodium chloride concentration approximately 2.2 g/100 ml)
• Copper sulphate (trace amount, naturally present in the seawater formulation)

Possible Side Effects

Sterimar is generally very well tolerated. Side effects are uncommon but may include:
• Temporary stinging or burning sensation in the nose
• Sneezing shortly after use
• Mild nasal irritation or dryness
• Runny nose immediately after application

If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

• Children under 3 years of age
• Anyone with a known allergy to any of the ingredients
• People with a blocked or damaged nasal passage that prevents safe use of a nasal spray (seek medical advice first)
• Do not use if the packaging is damaged or the nozzle is blocked

Interactions

Sterimar Hypertonic Congestion Relief Nasal Spray is drug-free and is not known to interact with other medicines, foods, or supplements. However, if you are using other nasal sprays or treatments at the same time, allow a few minutes between applications. Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. Do not freeze. The spray is for single-person use only — do not share with others to avoid the risk of infection. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
