Sensodyne Pronamel Toothpaste for Children is a specially formulated daily toothpaste designed to strengthen children’s tooth enamel and protect against acid wear and tooth decay. It is suitable for children aged 6 and over and has a gentle mint flavour to encourage good brushing habits.

How It Works

This toothpaste contains sodium fluoride, which works by remineralising and rehardening weakened tooth enamel that has been softened by acidic foods and drinks. Regular use helps to build a stronger protective layer on the teeth, reducing the risk of cavities and acid erosion over time.

Directions for Use

For children aged 6 and over: apply a pea-sized amount of toothpaste to a soft toothbrush and brush teeth thoroughly for two minutes, twice daily — in the morning and before bed. After brushing, children should spit out the toothpaste and not rinse, to allow the fluoride to continue working. Children should be supervised while brushing to ensure they do not swallow the toothpaste. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. Possible Side Effects

Sensodyne Pronamel for Children is generally well tolerated. Possible side effects can include:
• Oral irritation or mouth sensitivity
• Allergic reactions such as rash, swelling, or itching (rare)
• Dental fluorosis (white spots or streaking on teeth) if excessive fluoride is swallowed regularly over time — this is why supervision during brushing is important

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

• Children under 6 years of age (unless advised by a dentist or doctor)
• Anyone with a known allergy or hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients in the formulation
• Children who are already using another fluoride supplement or high-fluoride toothpaste without dental supervision

Interactions

There are no significant known drug interactions associated with this toothpaste when used as directed, as it is not intended to be swallowed. If your child is taking fluoride supplements prescribed by a dentist or doctor, seek advice before using additional fluoride-containing toothpastes.
