Allergan Refresh Contacts are preservative-free, lubricating eye drops designed to relieve dryness, irritation, and discomfort in the eyes. They are suitable for use with all types of contact lenses, including daily disposables and extended wear lenses.

How It Works

The active ingredient, carmellose sodium, is a lubricant that mimics the natural moisture in your tears. When applied to the eye, it forms a soothing, protective layer over the surface of the eye, helping to relieve the feelings of dryness and irritation — even while wearing contact lenses.

Directions for Use

For adults and children: instil 1 to 2 drops into the affected eye(s) as needed throughout the day. Each single-use vial should be used immediately after opening and discarded after use — do not save an opened vial for later. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. Possible Side Effects

• Temporary mild stinging or burning sensation upon application
• Temporary blurred vision immediately after use
• Eye irritation or redness
• Feeling of something in the eye

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

• People with a known allergy or hypersensitivity to carmellose sodium or any other ingredient in this product
• Do not use if the solution appears cloudy or discoloured
• Do not use if the vial seal is already broken before use

Interactions

Allergan Refresh Contacts are not known to interact with other eye drops or systemic medicines. However, if you are using other eye drops or eye ointments at the same time, leave at least 5 minutes between applications, and apply ointments last. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Allergan Refresh Contacts are generally considered suitable for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as the drops are applied topically to the eye and contain no preservatives. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

Alcohol

There is no known interaction between Allergan Refresh Contacts and alcohol. This product is applied directly to the eye and is not taken orally, so alcohol consumption is not expected to affect how it works.

Driving and Operating Machinery

Allergan Refresh Contacts may cause temporary blurred vision immediately after application. Do not drive or operate machinery until your vision has fully cleared after using these eye drops.

Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place away from direct sunlight. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Once a vial is opened, use it immediately and discard any remaining solution — do not store opened vials for later use. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
