Otrivine Adult Metered Dose 0.1% Nasal Spray is a decongestant nasal spray used to relieve a blocked or stuffy nose caused by colds, hayfever, sinusitis, and other allergic conditions. It provides fast, effective relief to help you breathe more easily.

How It Works
The active ingredient, xylometazoline hydrochloride, belongs to a group of medicines called sympathomimetics. It works by narrowing the blood vessels inside the lining of the nose, which reduces swelling and congestion, allowing air to pass through more freely within minutes of use.

Directions for Use
For adults and children aged 12 years and over: spray once into each nostril up to three times a day. Do not use for more than 7 consecutive days without speaking to a doctor, as prolonged use can make congestion worse. This spray is not suitable for children under 12 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use.

• Xylometazoline hydrochloride 0.1% w/v (equivalent to 0.14 mg per metered dose spray)

Possible Side Effects
• Temporary burning, stinging, or dryness inside the nose
• Sneezing immediately after use
• Headache
• Rebound congestion (worsening of blocked nose) if used for more than 7 days
• Rapid or irregular heartbeat (palpitations) — rare
• Nausea — rare

Who Should Not Use This Product
• Children under 12 years of age
• People who have had surgery that has exposed the meninges (the membranes surrounding the brain)
• People with dry nasal inflammation (rhinitis sicca)
• People taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or who have taken them within the past 14 days
• People with an allergy to xylometazoline hydrochloride or any other ingredients in the product
• People with angle-closure glaucoma
• People with an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism), severe heart disease, or high blood pressure — seek advice from your PillSorted pharmacist before use

Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Do not freeze. Each bottle should only be used by one person to prevent the spread of infection. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
