Orajel 10% Dental Gel is a topical anaesthetic gel used to provide fast, temporary relief from toothache and other dental pain. It is applied directly to the affected area of the gum or tooth to help ease discomfort quickly.

How It Works

The active ingredient, benzocaine, is a local anaesthetic that works by temporarily blocking the nerve signals in the area where it is applied. This numbs the affected area and reduces the sensation of pain, providing short-term relief while you seek appropriate dental treatment.

Directions for Use

Adults and children aged 12 years and over: Apply a small amount of gel directly to the affected tooth and surrounding gum using a clean fingertip or cotton bud. Use up to four times daily, allowing at least two hours between applications. Do not use for more than seven days without seeking dental advice. This product is not suitable for children under 12 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use.

Possible Side Effects

• Local irritation or a burning sensation at the site of application
• Redness or swelling of the gum or surrounding tissue
• Allergic reactions such as rash or itching (rare)

Who Should Not Use This Product

• Children under 12 years of age
• People with a known allergy or hypersensitivity to benzocaine or other local anaesthetics
• People with a known allergy to any other ingredient in the gel
• Anyone who has experienced a serious reaction to similar products in the past

Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct heat and sunlight. Keep the cap tightly closed when not in use. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
