    Description

Numark Night Time Sleep Aid 50mg – 20 Tablets

Numark Night Time Sleep Aid contains diphenhydramine hydrochloride, an antihistamine used as a short-term treatment for occasional sleeplessness in adults. It is designed to help you fall asleep when you are having temporary difficulty sleeping.

    How It Works

Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine that causes drowsiness as a side effect, which is why it is used as a sleep aid. It works by blocking histamine receptors in the brain, reducing wakefulness and helping you feel sleepy. It is intended only for short-term use of up to two weeks.

    Directions for Use

Adults and children aged 16 and over: take one tablet (50mg) at bedtime. Do not take more than one tablet in 24 hours. This medicine should only be used for a maximum of two weeks. It is not suitable for children under 16 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Interactions

Diphenhydramine can interact with several medicines, increasing the risk of side effects. This includes other antihistamines, sleeping tablets, antidepressants (particularly MAOIs and tricyclics), antipsychotics, medicines for anxiety, and some medicines used to treat stomach problems. Combining this medicine with other products that cause drowsiness can significantly increase sedation. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Diphenhydramine is not recommended during pregnancy or whilst breastfeeding, as it may pass into breast milk and could affect a baby. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

You should not drink alcohol whilst taking this medicine. Alcohol increases the sedative effects of diphenhydramine, which can make you very drowsy and impair your ability to function safely. Avoid alcohol for the duration of treatment.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

This medicine causes drowsiness and may impair your ability to drive or operate machinery. You should not drive, cycle, or use tools or machinery after taking this medicine. Drowsiness may continue into the following day, so exercise caution until you know how this medicine affects you.

    Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
