    Description

    Nicorette 2mg Original Gum – 210 Pieces

Nicorette 2mg Original Gum is a nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) used to help you stop smoking. It works by reducing the cravings and unpleasant withdrawal symptoms that can make quitting difficult.

    How It Works

Each piece of gum contains nicotine polacrilex, which slowly releases nicotine into your body as you chew. This nicotine is absorbed through the lining of your mouth, helping to satisfy cravings without the harmful chemicals found in cigarette smoke. Over time, you can gradually reduce your use of the gum as your dependence on nicotine decreases.

    Directions for Use

The 2mg gum is recommended for people who smoke fewer than 20 cigarettes a day. Use one piece of gum whenever you feel the urge to smoke, using the “chew and rest” method — chew the gum slowly until you notice a strong taste, then rest it between your cheek and gum, and repeat. Most people use 8–12 pieces per day; do not exceed 15 pieces in 24 hours. The gum should not be used continuously for more than 12 months, although some people may need it for longer. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Interactions

Stopping smoking — with or without NRT — can affect the levels of certain medicines in your blood, including theophylline, clozapine, warfarin, and insulin. Your doctor may need to adjust the doses of these medicines when you quit smoking. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Stopping smoking completely is the safest option during pregnancy and breastfeeding. If you are struggling to quit without support, NRT is considered preferable to continuing to smoke, but should only be used under medical supervision during pregnancy. Nicotine does pass into breast milk in small amounts, so intermittent-dose forms like gum are preferred over continuous forms such as patches. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

There is no known direct interaction between Nicorette 2mg Original Gum and alcohol. However, drinking alcohol may reduce your motivation to quit smoking, so it is worth being mindful of your alcohol intake while trying to stop smoking.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Nicorette 2mg Original Gum is not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. Dizziness is an uncommon side effect; if affected, avoid driving or using machinery until you feel well again.

    Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
