Murine Hayfever Relief Eye Drops are specially formulated to relieve the itchy, red, and watery eyes associated with hay fever and other eye allergies. They contain sodium cromoglicate, a trusted active ingredient that helps soothe allergy-related eye symptoms quickly and effectively.

How It Works

Sodium cromoglicate works by stabilising the mast cells in your eyes — these are the cells that release histamine when triggered by allergens such as pollen, dust, or pet dander. By preventing histamine from being released, the drops help stop the itching, redness, and watering before they start. For best results, it is recommended to use the drops regularly throughout the allergy season, even when symptoms are not present.

Directions for Use

Adults and children aged 6 years and over: instil 1–2 drops into each affected eye, up to four times daily. Tilt your head back slightly, pull down the lower eyelid, and gently squeeze one drop into the eye. Avoid touching the tip of the dropper to your eye or any other surface to prevent contamination. If you wear soft contact lenses, remove them before applying the drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. Possible Side Effects

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

Interactions

Sodium cromoglicate eye drops are not known to interact significantly with other medicines when used as directed. Alcohol

There is no known interaction between Murine Hayfever Relief Eye Drops and alcohol. This medicine is applied topically to the eye and has minimal systemic absorption, so alcohol consumption is not expected to affect how the drops work.

Driving and Operating Machinery

These eye drops may cause temporary blurred vision immediately after application. You should wait until your vision is completely clear before driving or operating machinery. Avoid driving straight after applying the drops until any blurring has fully resolved.

Storage

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Once opened, the drops should be discarded within 28 days to prevent the risk of eye infection. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
