MolluDab 5% Solution – 2ml

MolluDab is a topical solution containing potassium hydroxide 5%, used to treat molluscum contagiosum — a common viral skin infection that causes small, raised, pearl-like spots on the skin. It is suitable for use in adults and children aged 2 years and over.

How It Works

Potassium hydroxide works by dissolving the protein in the skin cells that are infected with the molluscum contagiosum virus. When applied to the spots, it penetrates the surface and breaks down the infected tissue, allowing the body’s immune system to clear the virus. The spots typically become inflamed before healing and disappearing.

Directions for Use

Apply MolluDab to each molluscum spot using the applicator pen provided. Dab the solution onto the centre of each spot once or twice a day. Continue until the spots become inflamed (red and slightly swollen) — this usually takes 2 to 10 days. Once inflammation occurs, stop treatment on those spots and allow them to heal naturally. Do not apply to healthy skin around the spots. Do not use on the face, genitals or near the eyes. If you are unsure how to use this product, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

Possible Side Effects

• Redness and inflammation at the application site (expected — this is how it works)
• Stinging or burning sensation on application (common)
• Temporary discolouration of the skin (uncommon)
• Scarring (rare, more likely if applied to healthy skin)

Who Should Not Use This Product

• Children under 2 years of age
• People with a known allergy to potassium hydroxide or any other ingredient
• Do not use on the face, genitals or near the eyes
• Do not apply to broken skin, eczema or other skin conditions

Storage

Store below 25°C. Replace cap tightly after use. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
