Description
Loratadine 10mg Hayfever & Allergy Relief – 360 Tablets
Loratadine 10mg Hayfever & Allergy Relief tablets contain loratadine, a non-drowsy antihistamine used to relieve the symptoms of hay fever and other allergic conditions, including itchy eyes, sneezing, a runny nose, skin rashes, and hives.
⸻
How It Works
Loratadine works by blocking histamine receptors in the body. Histamine is a natural chemical released during an allergic reaction that causes symptoms such as itching, sneezing, and a runny nose. By blocking histamine, loratadine helps to relieve these symptoms within one hour and provides up to 24 hours of relief from a single tablet.
⸻
Directions for Use
Adults and children aged 12 years and over: take one 10mg tablet once daily. Swallow the tablet whole with water, with or without food. Do not take more than one tablet in 24 hours. This medicine is not recommended for children under 12 years of age without medical advice. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.
⸻

Interactions
Loratadine may interact with certain medicines that affect liver enzymes, including some antibiotics (such as erythromycin), antifungals (such as ketoconazole), and cimetidine. These medicines may increase the levels of loratadine in your blood. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.
⸻
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
The safety of loratadine during pregnancy has not been fully established. Loratadine passes into breast milk in small amounts and is generally not recommended during breastfeeding. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
⸻
Alcohol
Although loratadine is classed as a non-drowsy antihistamine, drinking alcohol while taking this medicine may increase the risk of drowsiness. It is advisable to avoid or limit alcohol consumption during treatment.
⸻
Driving and Operating Machinery
Loratadine is classified as a non-drowsy antihistamine and is unlikely to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery in most people. However, a small number of people may experience drowsiness or dizziness, so you should assess how the medicine affects you before driving or using machinery.
⸻
