Description
Lamisil Once 1% Cutaneous Solution – 4g
Lamisil Once is a single-application treatment for athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), a common fungal infection that causes itching, burning, and flaking skin between the toes and on the soles of the feet. Just one treatment is needed to clear the infection, making it a convenient and effective option.
⸻
How It Works
Lamisil Once contains terbinafine, an antifungal medicine that kills the fungi responsible for athlete’s foot. When applied to the skin, it forms a film that releases terbinafine into the skin over time, creating a sustained antifungal effect. It works by disrupting the fungal cell membrane, ultimately destroying the fungi. Improvement is often visible within a few days of a single application.
⸻
Directions for Use
Lamisil Once is for use in adults and children aged 12 and over. Wash and dry your feet thoroughly before applying. Apply the solution to the entire sole and sides of both feet, the skin between the toes, and a little way up each foot. Allow to dry for 1–2 minutes and do not wash the treated area for 24 hours after application. Only one application is required. Do not use on children under 12 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.
⸻
Active Ingredients
• Terbinafine hydrochloride 1% w/w (equivalent to 10 mg per gram)
⸻
Possible Side Effects
Side effects are uncommon but may include:
• Mild skin irritation or redness at the application site
• Burning or stinging sensation on the skin
• Skin dryness or peeling
• Allergic skin reactions such as rash or itching
If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.
⸻
Who Should Not Take This Medicine
• People who are allergic to terbinafine or any other ingredient in this product
• Children under 12 years of age
• Those with broken, inflamed, or severely damaged skin at the application site
• People with known hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation
⸻
Interactions
As Lamisil Once is applied to the skin and very little terbinafine is absorbed into the bloodstream, significant drug interactions are unlikely with a single topical application. However, it is always good practice to inform your healthcare provider of all treatments you are using. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.
⸻
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
There is limited data on the use of topical terbinafine during pregnancy or breastfeeding. As only very small amounts are absorbed through the skin, the risk is considered low, but caution is still advised. Avoid applying to the breast area if breastfeeding. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
⸻
Alcohol
There is no known interaction between Lamisil Once cutaneous solution and alcohol. This medicine is applied to the skin and is not taken by mouth, so alcohol consumption is not expected to affect the treatment or its safety.
