    Description

    Healthy Start Children’s Vitamin Drops – 10ml

Healthy Start Children’s Vitamin Drops are a specially formulated liquid supplement providing essential vitamins A, C, and D for babies and young children aged from birth to 4 years. They help support healthy growth, immune function, and bone development during the early years of life.

    How It Works

These drops provide three key vitamins that young children need but may not always get enough of from diet alone. Vitamin A supports vision and the immune system; Vitamin C helps the body absorb iron and maintain healthy skin and tissues; and Vitamin D works alongside calcium to build and maintain strong, healthy bones and teeth.

    Directions for Use

The recommended daily dose is 5 drops, which can be added to cool food or drink, or placed directly onto a clean spoon and given to the child. This dose is suitable for children from birth to 4 years of age. Drops should not be added to hot food or milk as this may reduce the effectiveness of the vitamins. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Active Ingredients

Per daily dose of 5 drops:
    • Vitamin A (as retinyl acetate) — 233 mcg (700 IU)
    • Vitamin C (as ascorbic acid) — 20 mg
    • Vitamin D (as cholecalciferol, Vitamin D3) — 7.5 mcg (300 IU)

    Possible Side Effects

Healthy Start Children’s Vitamin Drops are generally very well tolerated at the recommended dose. Side effects are uncommon but may include:
    • Mild stomach upset or discomfort
    • Nausea if given in excess of the recommended dose
    • Signs of vitamin excess (such as unusual thirst, frequent urination, or irritability) if used at doses higher than recommended

If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

Do not give these drops to a child who:
    • Is allergic to any of the ingredients listed in the product
    • Is already taking another vitamin A or vitamin D supplement, unless advised by a doctor
    • Has a condition that causes high levels of calcium or vitamin D in the body (such as hypercalcaemia or hypervitaminosis D)
    • Is receiving high-dose vitamin A therapy under medical supervision

    Interactions

Vitamin D may interact with certain heart medicines (such as digoxin) and thiazide diuretics, potentially raising calcium levels. Vitamin A at high doses may interact with retinoid medicines used for skin conditions. Giving these drops alongside other multivitamin products containing vitamins A, C, or D may result in excessive intake and should be avoided unless a healthcare professional advises otherwise. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.
