    Description

    Epaderm Cream – Pack of 6 x500g

Epaderm Cream is an emollient (moisturising) cream used to soothe and hydrate dry, itchy, or flaking skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and ichthyosis. It can be used as a leave-on moisturiser and as a soap substitute during washing.

    How It Works

Epaderm Cream works by forming a protective layer over the surface of the skin, helping to lock in moisture and prevent water from evaporating. This softens and soothes the skin, restoring the skin’s natural barrier and reducing dryness, itching, and irritation over time. The cream does not contain any steroids or active drugs — it works purely through moisturising and barrier-protecting effects.

    Directions for Use

Apply Epaderm Cream to the affected areas of skin as often as needed — typically two to four times a day, or as directed by your doctor. Smooth it gently onto the skin in the direction of hair growth. As a soap substitute, apply it to wet or dry skin, then rinse off. It is suitable for adults, children, and babies, though for infants you should follow the guidance of a healthcare professional. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Active Ingredients

    • Emulsifying Wax 5% w/w
    • Yellow Soft Paraffin 10% w/w
    • Liquid Paraffin 10% w/w

    Possible Side Effects

Epaderm Cream is generally very well tolerated. Possible side effects may include:
    • Skin irritation or redness at the site of application
    • A temporary stinging or burning sensation, particularly on broken or very sensitive skin
    • Folliculitis (inflammation of hair follicles) if applied against the direction of hair growth
    • Allergic skin reactions — these are rare but possible

If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

    • People who are allergic to emulsifying wax, yellow soft paraffin, liquid paraffin, or any other ingredient in Epaderm Cream
    • Do not use on infected skin unless a healthcare professional has advised it is appropriate
    • Do not use near open flames or naked lights — paraffin-based products can be a fire hazard, especially when absorbed into fabric
    • Avoid contact with the eyes

    Interactions

Epaderm Cream is a topical emollient and is not known to interact significantly with other medicines when used as directed on the skin. However, if you are using other topical treatments (such as steroid creams or antibiotics) on the same area of skin, apply them at different times and follow the advice of your healthcare professional. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Epaderm Cream is generally considered suitable for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as it is a topical emollient with no systemic absorption. If using on the breast area while breastfeeding, ensure the skin is clean before feeding your baby. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

There are no known interactions between Epaderm Cream and alcohol. This product is applied to the skin and is not absorbed into the bloodstream, so alcohol consumption does not affect its safety or effectiveness.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Epaderm Cream does not cause drowsiness and has no known effects on your ability to drive or operate machinery. You can continue your normal activities after applying this cream.

Store Epaderm Cream below 25°C in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Do not refrigerate. Once opened, use within 3 months. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
