E45 Itch Relief Cream is a soothing, non-greasy cream used to relieve itching and irritation associated with dry skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, and other itchy skin complaints. It is suitable for adults and children aged 3 years and over.

How It Works

The active ingredient, lauromacrogols (also known as macrogol lauryl ether), works by calming the nerve endings in the skin that cause the sensation of itch. It has a mild local anaesthetic effect on the skin’s surface, reducing the urge to scratch while also helping to soothe and moisturise the affected area.

Directions for Use

Apply a thin layer of cream to the affected area and gently rub in. This can be done up to three times daily, or as often as needed to relieve itching. For adults and children aged 3 years and over. Do not apply to broken or infected skin. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

Possible Side Effects

Most people use this cream without experiencing any side effects. However, some people may notice:
• Mild skin irritation or redness at the site of application

• Worsening of skin irritation (rare)

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

• People who are allergic to lauromacrogols or any other ingredient in the cream
• Children under 3 years of age
• Do not apply to broken, weeping, or infected skin
• Do not apply near the eyes or mucous membranes
• Do not use on areas of skin that are severely inflamed without first consulting a doctor

Interactions

E45 Itch Relief Cream is applied to the skin and is not expected to interact with other medicines taken by mouth. However, avoid using alongside other topical skin preparations on the same area at the same time without seeking advice first.
