Description
Dioralyte Citrus 4g – 6 Sachets
Dioralyte Citrus sachets are an oral rehydration therapy used to replace fluids and essential salts (electrolytes) lost during bouts of diarrhoea and vomiting. Each citrus-flavoured sachet helps to prevent and treat dehydration, making them suitable for adults, children, and infants.
⸻
How It Works
Dioralyte contains a carefully balanced mix of glucose and electrolytes (including sodium and potassium) that work together using the body’s natural absorption process in the gut. Glucose helps carry sodium — and with it, water — across the intestinal wall and back into the bloodstream, rapidly restoring the body’s fluid and salt balance lost through diarrhoea or vomiting.
⸻
Directions for Use
Dissolve the contents of each sachet in 200 ml (roughly one cup) of fresh drinking water and stir well before drinking. Do not use fruit juice, milk, or carbonated drinks to dissolve the sachets.
Adults and children over 1 year: Take 1–2 sachets after each loose stool. Continue until diarrhoea stops.
Infants under 1 year: Use only under medical supervision.
Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

⸻
Interactions
Dioralyte is not generally known to interact significantly with other medicines. However, as it contains potassium and sodium, it may interact with medicines that affect electrolyte levels, such as certain diuretics (water tablets), ACE inhibitors, or potassium-sparing medicines. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.
⸻
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Dioralyte is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as it simply replaces fluids and electrolytes. However, it is important to stay well hydrated during these periods. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
⸻
Alcohol
There is no known interaction between Dioralyte and alcohol. However, alcohol can worsen dehydration and irritate the gut, so it is best avoided when you are unwell with diarrhoea or vomiting.
⸻
Driving and Operating Machinery
Dioralyte does not contain any ingredients known to cause drowsiness or impair concentration. It is not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. However, if you feel unwell due to your underlying illness, take care accordingly.
⸻
Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. Once dissolved in water, use the solution immediately and do not store it for later use. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
