Daktarin Aktiv (Miconazole) Spray Powder for Athletes Foot – 100g

Daktarin Aktiv Spray Powder is an antifungal treatment used to treat athlete’s foot (tinea pedis). It contains miconazole nitrate and comes as a convenient spray powder — a useful alternative to creams for those who prefer a dry, easy-to-apply format.

    How It Works

The active ingredient, miconazole nitrate, is an antifungal medicine that works by damaging the cell membranes of the fungi responsible for athlete’s foot. This stops the fungi from growing and spreading, allowing the infection to clear up. It also helps to relieve the itching, burning, and irritation associated with athlete’s foot.

    Directions for Use

For adults and children aged 12 and over: spray the powder onto the affected area and the surrounding skin two to three times daily. Continue treatment for at least ten days after symptoms have cleared to prevent the infection from returning. Shake the can well before use and hold it approximately 15 cm from the skin when applying. This product is not recommended for children under 12 years of age without medical advice. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Active Ingredients

    • Miconazole nitrate 0.16% w/w (1.6 mg per gram of spray powder)

    Possible Side Effects

Side effects with this product are uncommon but may include:
    • Skin irritation or burning sensation at the application site
    • Redness or rash
    • Allergic skin reactions such as contact dermatitis
    • Itching or stinging at the site of application

If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

    • People who are allergic to miconazole nitrate or any other ingredient in the product
    • People with a known allergy to imidazole antifungals
    • Children under 12 years of age (unless directed by a doctor)
    • Do not spray near the eyes, mouth, or nose
    • Do not use on broken, damaged, or severely inflamed skin without medical advice
    • Do not inhale the spray

    Interactions

When applied to the skin, miconazole is not significantly absorbed into the body, so interactions with other medicines are unlikely. However, miconazole can interact with anticoagulant medicines such as warfarin if absorbed in larger amounts, potentially increasing the risk of bleeding. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

The use of Daktarin Aktiv Spray Powder during pregnancy or breastfeeding has not been fully established. As this is a topical product with minimal absorption, the risk is considered low, but caution is still advised. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

There is no known interaction between Daktarin Aktiv Spray Powder and alcohol. As this medicine is applied to the skin and not taken orally, alcohol consumption is not expected to affect how this product works.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Daktarin Aktiv Spray Powder is applied directly to the skin and is not known to cause drowsiness or affect concentration. It is not expected to have any effect on your ability to drive or operate machinery.

    Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct heat and sunlight.
