    Description

    Clarityn Allergy 10mg – 60 Tablets

Clarityn Allergy 10mg Tablets contain loratadine, a non-drowsy antihistamine used to relieve the symptoms of hayfever and other allergies, including sneezing, runny nose, itchy or watery eyes, and skin reactions such as hives.

    How It Works

Loratadine works by blocking histamine receptors in the body. Histamine is a natural chemical released during an allergic reaction that causes symptoms such as itching, sneezing, and a runny nose. By blocking histamine, Clarityn helps reduce these uncomfortable symptoms. Unlike older antihistamines, loratadine is non-sedating, meaning it is much less likely to cause drowsiness.

    Directions for Use

Adults and children aged 12 years and over: take one 10mg tablet once daily. The tablet can be taken with or without food. Do not take more than one tablet in 24 hours. This product is not recommended for children under 12 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Active Ingredients

    • Loratadine 10mg per tablet

    Possible Side Effects

    • Headache
    • Feeling tired or drowsy (uncommon but possible)
    • Dry mouth
    • Nausea
    • Stomach upset
    • Skin rash (rare)

If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

    • Children under 12 years of age
    • Anyone who is allergic to loratadine or any other ingredient in the tablet
    • People with rare hereditary conditions such as galactose intolerance or glucose-galactose malabsorption (refer to the patient information leaflet for full details)
    • Anyone with severe liver problems should seek medical advice before use

    Interactions

Loratadine may interact with certain medicines, including some antifungals (such as ketoconazole), certain antibiotics (such as erythromycin), and cimetidine (used for heartburn). These medicines may increase the level of loratadine in the blood. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

The safety of loratadine during pregnancy has not been fully established. Loratadine passes into breast milk in small amounts, so use during breastfeeding is generally not recommended unless advised by a healthcare professional. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

Although Clarityn is a non-drowsy antihistamine, drinking alcohol while taking loratadine may increase the risk of drowsiness. It is advisable to avoid or limit alcohol consumption while taking this medicine.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Clarityn Allergy is classified as a non-drowsy antihistamine and is unlikely to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery in most people. However, a small number of individuals may still experience drowsiness. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery if you feel affected.

    Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
