    Description

    Cetraben 3-in-1 Ointment – 450g – Pack of 6

Cetraben 3-in-1 Ointment is an emollient (moisturising) treatment used to soothe, hydrate, and protect dry, rough, or chapped skin. It is suitable for conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, ichthyosis, and other dry skin conditions in adults and children, including babies.

    How It Works

Cetraben 3-in-1 Ointment works by forming a protective barrier on the surface of the skin, which helps to lock in moisture and prevent water loss. The emollient ingredients soften and smooth the skin, reducing dryness, flaking, and irritation. Unlike some creams, this ointment has a thicker, greasier consistency, making it especially effective for very dry or sensitive skin.

    Directions for Use

Apply Cetraben 3-in-1 Ointment directly to the affected areas of skin as often as needed, or as directed by your doctor. Smooth the ointment gently onto the skin in the direction of hair growth to reduce the risk of blocking hair follicles. It can be used as a leave-on moisturiser, a soap substitute when washing, and as a bath additive — follow specific directions on the pack for each use. It is suitable for all ages, including babies, unless otherwise advised by a healthcare professional. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Possible Side Effects

Cetraben 3-in-1 Ointment is generally well tolerated, but as with all medicines, some people may experience side effects:
    • Skin irritation or redness at the site of application
    • A burning or stinging sensation on application
    • Skin rash or allergic reaction (rare)
    • Folliculitis (inflammation of hair follicles) if applied against the direction of hair growth

If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

    • People who are allergic to white soft paraffin, light liquid paraffin, or any other ingredient in this product
    • Do not use on infected skin unless advised by a doctor
    • Avoid contact with the eyes
    • Do not use near open flames or when smoking, as paraffin-based products on skin or clothing can be a fire hazard

    Interactions

Cetraben 3-in-1 Ointment is applied to the skin and is not generally known to interact with other medicines. However, using multiple topical products at the same time may affect how well each one works, so it is worth discussing your full skincare routine with a healthcare professional. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Cetraben 3-in-1 Ointment is considered suitable for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as it is applied topically and absorption into the body is minimal. However, care should be taken to avoid applying the ointment to the nipple area if breastfeeding. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

There is no known interaction between Cetraben 3-in-1 Ointment and alcohol. This product is applied to the skin and is not taken by mouth, so alcohol consumption is not expected to affect how this medicine works.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Cetraben 3-in-1 Ointment does not cause drowsiness and is not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. However, take care if applying the ointment to the hands, as the greasy texture may temporarily affect your grip.

    Storage

Store Cetraben 3-in-1 Ointment below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct heat and sunlight. Keep the lid firmly closed when not in use. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
