Description
Canesten – 1 Oral Capsule
Canesten 1 Oral Capsule is an antifungal treatment for vaginal thrush (candidiasis) in women aged 16 to 60 years. It contains 150mg of fluconazole and works as a single-dose treatment to relieve symptoms such as itching, soreness, and discharge caused by a yeast infection.
⸻
How It Works
Fluconazole belongs to a group of medicines called triazole antifungals. It works by attacking the cell membrane of the Candida yeast that causes thrush, preventing it from growing and spreading, which clears the infection and relieves your symptoms.
⸻
Directions for Use
Adults aged 16 to 60 years should take one 150mg capsule by mouth as a single dose. The capsule can be swallowed with water and taken at any time of day, with or without food. It is not suitable for girls under 16 or women over 60 without first speaking to a doctor. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.
