Buttercup BronchoStop Cough Pastilles – 10 Pack

Buttercup BronchoStop Cough Pastilles are herbal pastilles used to help relieve the symptoms of both dry and chesty coughs, as well as throat irritation associated with bronchitis. They are suitable for adults and children aged 12 and over.

    How It Works

The active ingredient, thyme herb dry extract, has natural antispasmodic and expectorant properties. This means it helps to calm the cough reflex, reduce throat irritation, and loosen mucus — making it easier to clear your airways whether your cough is dry or chesty. The pastille dissolves slowly in the mouth, allowing the active ingredient to work directly on the throat and airway lining.

    Directions for Use

Adults and children aged 12 and over: dissolve one pastille slowly in the mouth. Take up to 6 pastilles per day as needed, spaced throughout the day. Do not chew the pastilles — allow them to dissolve fully. This medicine is not recommended for children under 12 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Active Ingredients

    • Thyme herb dry extract (Thymus vulgaris L. and/or Thymus zygis L., herba) — 55 mg per pastille (equivalent to 297–429 mg of thyme herb)

    Possible Side Effects

Buttercup BronchoStop Cough Pastilles are generally well tolerated. Reported side effects include:
    • Nausea
    • Stomach discomfort or digestive upset
    • Allergic reactions (such as skin rash or itching) in people sensitive to thyme or related plants
If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

    • People who are allergic to thyme, oregano, or other plants from the Lamiaceae family
    • People with known hypersensitivity to any of the other ingredients in the pastilles
    • Children under 12 years of age
    • People with rare hereditary conditions such as fructose intolerance or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency (the pastilles contain sucrose)

    Interactions

No significant interactions with other medicines have been formally documented for thyme herb extract at the doses found in these pastilles. However, as with all herbal medicines, interactions cannot be completely ruled out. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Alcohol

There are no known interactions between Buttercup BronchoStop Cough Pastilles and alcohol. However, alcohol can irritate the throat and airways, which may worsen cough symptoms, so it is sensible to limit alcohol consumption while you are unwell.
