Description
Benadryl Allergy Relief – 12 Capsules
Benadryl Allergy Relief Capsules contain acrivastine, a fast-acting antihistamine used to relieve the symptoms of allergies and hay fever, including sneezing, itchy and watery eyes, and a runny or blocked nose. They are suitable for adults and children aged 12 and over.
⸻
How It Works
Acrivastine works by blocking histamine receptors in the body. Histamine is a chemical released during an allergic reaction that causes symptoms such as itching, sneezing, and a runny nose. By blocking histamine, acrivastine helps to quickly relieve these uncomfortable symptoms.
⸻
Directions for Use
Adults and children aged 12 and over: take one 8 mg capsule up to three times a day. Do not take more than three capsules in 24 hours. Swallow the capsule whole with water. This medicine is not suitable for children under 12 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

⸻
Interactions
Acrivastine may interact with other medicines, including sedatives, sleeping tablets, anti-anxiety medicines, antidepressants, and certain antifungal or antibiotic medicines. Taking acrivastine with these medicines may increase the risk of side effects such as drowsiness. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.
⸻
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Benadryl Allergy Relief Capsules are not recommended during pregnancy or whilst breastfeeding, as the safety of acrivastine in these situations has not been fully established. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
⸻
Alcohol
Avoid drinking alcohol while taking Benadryl Allergy Relief Capsules. Alcohol can increase the sedative effects of acrivastine, making drowsiness worse and impairing your ability to concentrate or react quickly.
⸻
Driving and Operating Machinery
Although acrivastine is classed as a non-drowsy antihistamine, it may still cause drowsiness or dizziness in some people. You should not drive, operate heavy machinery, or perform tasks requiring alertness until you know how this medicine affects you.
