    Description

Beechams All in One – 160ml

Beechams All in One is a multi-symptom cold and flu liquid remedy designed to tackle several symptoms at once. It helps relieve fever, aches and pains, blocked nose, and chesty coughs, making it a convenient all-in-one solution during cold and flu season.

    How It Works

This medicine contains three active ingredients that each target a different symptom. Paracetamol reduces fever and relieves pain such as headaches and body aches. Phenylephrine acts as a decongestant, narrowing blood vessels in the nasal passages to ease a blocked or stuffy nose. Guaifenesin is an expectorant that helps to loosen and thin mucus in the chest, making it easier to cough up.

    Directions for Use

Adults and children aged 12 years and over should take 20ml every 4 hours as needed. Do not take more than 4 doses (80ml) in any 24-hour period. This medicine is not suitable for children under 12 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Active Ingredients

    Each 20ml dose contains:
    • Paracetamol 1000mg
    • Phenylephrine hydrochloride 12mg
    • Guaifenesin 200mg

    Possible Side Effects

    • Nausea or stomach upset
    • Dizziness or headache
    • Increased heart rate or palpitations
    • Difficulty sleeping
    • Skin rash or allergic reactions
    • High blood pressure (with prolonged use of phenylephrine)

If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

    • Children under 12 years of age
    • People with severe high blood pressure or severe heart disease
    • People taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or who have taken them in the last 14 days
    • People with an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism)
    • People with severe kidney or liver disease
    • Anyone allergic to paracetamol, phenylephrine, guaifenesin, or any other ingredient in this product
    • People currently taking other paracetamol-containing products

    Interactions

Beechams All in One may interact with other medicines, including antidepressants (particularly MAOIs and tricyclics), other decongestants, beta-blockers, and medicines used to treat high blood pressure. Avoid taking alongside other products containing paracetamol, as this can lead to an accidental overdose. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Phenylephrine and guaifenesin are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and this combination product should therefore be avoided. While paracetamol alone is generally considered safe in pregnancy, this product contains additional active ingredients that may not be suitable. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

Avoid drinking alcohol while taking Beechams All in One. Alcohol can increase the risk of liver damage when taken alongside paracetamol, and may also worsen some side effects such as dizziness. It is best to remain well hydrated with water or soft drinks instead.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Beechams All in One does not typically cause drowsiness, as it does not contain an antihistamine. However, some people may experience dizziness as a side effect of phenylephrine. If you feel dizzy or unwell after taking this medicine, do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you feel fully recovered.

    Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
