Description
Aspirin 75mg Gastro-Resistant Tablets – 56 tablets
Aspirin 75mg Gastro-Resistant Tablets are a low-dose aspirin used to help prevent blood clots forming in the arteries. They are commonly recommended for people who have had a heart attack, stroke, angina, or have undergone heart bypass surgery — and are not intended for use as a painkiller.
⸻
How It Works
Aspirin belongs to a group of medicines called antiplatelet agents. At this low dose, it works by reducing the stickiness of platelets — tiny cells in the blood that clump together to form clots. By making platelets less likely to stick together, aspirin helps to keep the blood flowing freely and reduces the risk of a heart attack or stroke caused by a blocked artery.
⸻
Directions for Use
The usual dose for adults is one 75mg tablet taken once a day. The gastro-resistant coating helps protect your stomach, but swallow the tablet whole — do not crush or chew it. It is best taken at the same time each day, with a glass of water; it may be taken with or without food. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

Ibuprofen in particular may reduce the protective effect of aspirin on the heart if taken regularly. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.
⸻
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Low-dose aspirin is sometimes prescribed by a doctor during pregnancy (particularly in the second and third trimesters) for specific medical reasons, but it should not be taken without medical supervision. It is generally not recommended during the last three months of pregnancy. Aspirin passes into breast milk in small amounts and is usually avoided during breastfeeding unless advised by a doctor. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
⸻
Alcohol
Drinking alcohol while taking aspirin increases the risk of stomach irritation and bleeding. It is advisable to keep alcohol consumption to a minimum whilst taking this medicine, and to avoid drinking heavily on a regular basis.
⸻
Driving and Operating Machinery
Aspirin 75mg Gastro-Resistant Tablets are not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. However, if you experience any unusual symptoms that affect your concentration or alertness, do not drive and speak to your doctor.
