    Description

    Anusol – 24 Suppositories

Anusol Suppositories are a medicated treatment used to relieve the discomfort associated with haemorrhoids (piles), including itching, soreness, and inflammation. They are designed to be inserted into the rectum, where they act directly on the affected area to provide soothing relief and support healing.

    How It Works

Anusol Suppositories contain a combination of active ingredients that work together to reduce inflammation, soothe irritated tissue, and create a protective barrier around haemorrhoidal tissue. Zinc oxide and bismuth oxide have astringent and antiseptic properties that help shrink swollen tissue and reduce the risk of infection, while Balsam Peru promotes healing of the affected skin and mucous membranes.

    Directions for Use

Adults and children aged 12 and over: insert one suppository into the rectum at night, in the morning, and after each bowel movement. Remove the foil wrapping before use. Do not use more than the recommended number per day. This product is not recommended for children under 12 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Active Ingredients

    • Zinc Oxide 296 mg per suppository
    • Bismuth Oxide 24 mg per suppository
    • Bismuth Subgallate 59 mg per suppository
    • Balsam Peru 49 mg per suppository

    Possible Side Effects

Anusol Suppositories are generally well tolerated. However, some people may experience:
    • Local skin irritation or sensitivity at the site of application
    • Allergic reactions, such as rash, itching, or redness
    • A temporary burning or stinging sensation upon insertion
If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.

    • People who are allergic to any of the active or inactive ingredients
    • Children under 12 years of age
    • Anyone who has rectal bleeding that has not been assessed by a doctor
    • People who have been advised by a doctor to avoid this type of treatment
    • Do not use if you have symptoms that may indicate a more serious condition, such as unexplained weight loss or a change in bowel habits — consult your doctor first

    Interactions

Anusol Suppositories are applied locally and are not known to interact significantly with other medicines. However, you should avoid using other rectal preparations at the same time unless advised by a healthcare professional. Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

The safety of Anusol Suppositories during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been fully established. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
