    Description

    Anbesol Oral Liquid – 10ml

Anbesol Oral Liquid is a fast-acting antiseptic and anaesthetic solution used to relieve pain and discomfort caused by mouth ulcers, denture irritation, and teething pain in babies. It is a sugar-free liquid suitable for use in adults, children, and infants.

    How It Works

Anbesol Oral Liquid contains three active ingredients that work together to relieve mouth pain and prevent infection. Lidocaine hydrochloride is a local anaesthetic that numbs the affected area to reduce pain, while cetylpyridinium chloride and chlorocresol are antiseptics that help to kill bacteria and prevent the area from becoming infected.

    Directions for Use

Apply the liquid to the affected area using a clean fingertip or cotton wool bud up to three times daily. For adults and children over 12 years, apply a small amount directly to the sore area. For infants and younger children experiencing teething pain, apply sparingly to the gums — do not use more than three times in 24 hours. Do not use in infants under 4 months of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Interactions

Anbesol Oral Liquid is applied topically and is not expected to cause significant interactions with other medicines when used as directed. However, caution is advised if you are taking other medicines that contain local anaesthetics. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

There is limited clinical data on the use of Anbesol Oral Liquid during pregnancy and breastfeeding. As the product is applied topically in small amounts, systemic absorption is expected to be minimal; however, caution is still advised. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

Anbesol Oral Liquid contains a small amount of alcohol (ethanol) as part of its formulation. This is present in very low quantities when used as directed and is not expected to cause any significant interaction with alcohol consumed as a drink. However, if you have been advised to avoid alcohol for medical or religious reasons, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist before using this product.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Anbesol Oral Liquid is applied topically to the mouth and is not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. Systemic absorption of lidocaine from correct topical use is minimal, so drowsiness is not anticipated with normal use.

    Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
