Description
Avarante 10mg Tadalafil Tablets – 8 Pack
Avarante 10mg Tadalafil Tablets contain tadalafil, a medicine used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in adult men — a condition where a man is unable to get or keep an erection firm enough for sexual activity. This pack contains 8 tablets, designed to be taken as needed before sexual activity.
⸻
How It Works
Tadalafil belongs to a group of medicines called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. When you are sexually stimulated, tadalafil helps relax the blood vessels in the penis, allowing more blood to flow in and produce an erection. It only works when there is sexual stimulation — it does not cause an erection on its own. The effects of a 10mg dose can last for up to 36 hours, giving a wider window of opportunity compared with some other ED treatments.
⸻
Directions for Use
The recommended dose for adults is one 10mg tablet taken orally, at least 30 minutes before sexual activity. Only take one tablet within any 24-hour period. Tablets can be taken with or without food. If the 10mg dose is not effective enough or causes side effects, your doctor may adjust your dose — do not change your dose without medical advice. Tadalafil 10mg is not intended for use in men under 18 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.
⸻
Active Ingredients
• Tadalafil 10mg per tablet
⸻
Possible Side Effects
Like all medicines, tadalafil can cause side effects in some people. Common side effects include:
• Headache
• Flushing (redness or warmth in the face, neck, or chest)
• Indigestion or stomach upset
• Back pain or muscle aches
• Nasal congestion (blocked or runny nose)
• Dizziness
• Visual disturbances (such as blurred vision or changes in colour vision)
If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.
⸻
Who Should Not Take This Medicine
Do not take Avarante 10mg Tadalafil Tablets if any of the following apply to you:
• You are allergic to tadalafil or any other ingredient in this medicine
• You are taking nitrates (medicines used for chest pain, such as glyceryl trinitrate) — combining these with tadalafil can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure
• You are taking riociguat (used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension)
• You have severe heart disease or have recently had a heart attack or stroke
• You have severely low blood pressure (hypotension)
• You have severe liver problems
• You have ever had loss of vision due to non-arteritic anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy (NAION)
• You are under 18 years of age
⸻
Interactions
Tadalafil can interact with a number of other medicines. Important interactions include:
• Nitrates (e.g. glyceryl trinitrate, isosorbide mononitrate) — do not use together as this can cause a severe drop in blood pressure
• Alpha-blockers (used for high blood pressure or prostate problems, e.g. doxazosin) — may cause low blood pressure
• Other PDE5 inhibitors (e.g. sildenafil, vardenafil) — do not use at the same time
• Certain antifungals (e.g. ketoconazole, itraconazole) or antibiotics (e.g. erythromycin) — may increase tadalafil levels in the blood
• HIV protease inhibitors (e.g. ritonavir) — may significantly increase tadalafil exposure
• Riociguat — do not use together
Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.
⸻
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Avarante 10mg Tadalafil Tablets are intended for use in adult men only and are not indicated for use in women. Tadalafil is therefore not relevant during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
⸻
Alcohol
Drinking alcohol while taking tadalafil can increase the risk of side effects such as dizziness, headache, increased heart rate, and low blood pressure. It is advisable to avoid drinking large amounts of alcohol (more than 5 units) when taking tadalafil, as this combination can impair your ability to get an erection and may worsen side effects. Moderate alcohol consumption is generally acceptable, but it is best to discuss this with your PillSorted pharmacist if you are unsure.
⸻
Driving and Operating Machinery
Some men experience dizziness or visual disturbances when taking tadalafil. If you are affected in this way, do not drive or operate heavy machinery. You should be aware of how tadalafil affects you before driving or performing tasks that require full alertness and clear vision. If you experience sudden vision or hearing loss, stop taking tadalafil and seek medical attention immediately — do not drive until the problem has been investigated.
⸻
Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the tablets in their original packaging until ready to use. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
