Do you understand that you must take this treatment within 72 hours (3 days) of unprotected sex?
Do you intend to use this medication more than once in the same menstrual cycle or if there is a chance you may already be pregnant?
Do you understand that you should not take this treatment if you have had unprotected sexual intercourse since your last period?
Do you intend to take this treatment if your last period was late, light/shorter, or unusual in any way?
Are you pregnant or breastfeeding or intending to become pregnant or start breastfeeding whilst taking this medication?
Do you have an allergy (hypersensitivity) to levonorgestrel or any of its constituents, including other hormonal contraceptives you may have used in the past?

– Past ectopic pregnancy
– Severe bowel malabsorption disorders e.g. Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis
– Active trophoblastic disease
– Acute porphyria
– Fallopian tube surgery
– Pelvic inflammatory disease
– Liver problems
– Galactose intolerance, Lapp Lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption

Is your BMI greater than 30, and your weight greater than 85 kg?
Are you aware that the efficacy of Levonorgestrel significantly decreases within the first three days? Therefore, do you agree to take it within 72 hours of sexual intercourse but preferably within 24 hours?

    Levonorgestrel 1.5mg Emergency Contraceptive Pill, also known as ‘the morning-after pill’, is used as an emergency contraceptive option. It contains the active ingredient levonorgestrel, a synthetic hormone that works by preventing or delaying ovulation, inhibiting fertilisation of an egg, or interfering with implantation of a fertilised egg in the uterus.
