Silver-containing ointment dressing made of Hydrophobic Polyamide mesh, coated with elemental silver and impregnated with a neutral ointment.
Elemental silver has an antibacterial effect against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria when they are in direct contact with the dressing. Impregnated with a neutral ointment without additives of Vaseline or other paraffin’s. Ataman Ag is permeable to exudates, particularly soft and conformable. It does not stick to the wound and is effective during long-term use. Ataman Ag is not cytotoxic and has an antibacterial effect for at least 7 days.
Trauman AG is used for atraumatic wound treatment in all phases of healing, e.g. for cuts, lacerations, abrasions, leg ulcers, pressure sores, burns, scalds, acid burns, radiation burns, abscesses, boils, carbuncles, panaritia, for covering donor and recipient sites in skin grafting following plastic and cosmetic surgery, nail extraction, phimosiectomy, etc. The non-medicated ointment base makes Atrauman AG also suitable in dermatology, in the treatment of patients with sensitive skin.
