What are injectable treatments?

GLP-1 injections are medications delivered through pre-filled pens that you can self-administer at home on a weekly basis. These treatments imitate a natural gut hormone, helping to control blood sugar and prolong feelings of fullness. They often result in nearly twice the weight loss compared to other common medications. The pens are user-friendly, with tiny needles, making the process fairly painless and easy to adapt to.

Who are these injections suitable for?

Injectable weight loss treatments are recommended for individuals with a BMI over 30. However, those with weight-related health issues may qualify with a BMI over 27. Such health concerns include high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, and elevated cholesterol. If your BMI is below 27 and you have Type 2 diabetes, we are unable to prescribe GLP-1 injections for weight loss.

What happens if I am not eligible?

If our clinicians assess your consultation and photo and determine that injectable treatment isn’t suitable for you, we will issue a full refund right away.

How do I use GLP-1 injectable pens?

You can inject GLP-1 treatments in the arm, leg, or abdomen using a tiny, fine needle for a nearly painless injection just beneath the skin. Both treatments include straightforward instructions for proper use.

What are the potential side effects?

Like all medications, injectable GLP-1 treatments may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, constipation, and diarrhoea. While not everyone experiences these, they usually subside after a few weeks as your body adjusts to the medication.

What should I do if I face these side effects?

The gradual dose increase every four weeks is intended to help your body tolerate the treatment and reduce the likelihood or severity of these side effects.

If you experience abdominal pain, serious stomach issues, or severe dehydration while taking this medication, seek medical advice immediately and inform them that you’re using this treatment. If you notice signs of an allergic reaction, such as difficulty breathing, rash, or swelling of the face, lips, or tongue, get immediate medical help.
