Vitabiotics Ultra Vitamin D3 1000 IU Optimum Level – 96 Tablets
Vitabiotics Ultra Vitamin D3 1000 IU Optimum Level tablets are a high-strength dietary supplement providing 25µg (1000 IU) of vitamin D3 per tablet. They are designed to help maintain healthy vitamin D levels, supporting bones, muscles, teeth, and normal immune function — particularly useful during autumn and winter when sunlight exposure is limited.
⸻
How It Works
Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is the form of vitamin D your body naturally makes when your skin is exposed to sunlight. Once absorbed, it helps your body use calcium and phosphorus effectively, which are essential for keeping bones strong and muscles working properly. It also plays an important role in supporting your immune system.
⸻
Directions for Use
Adults and children aged 12 and over should take one tablet daily, preferably with a main meal. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.
⸻
Active Ingredients
• Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) 25µg (1000 IU) per tablet
⸻
Possible Side Effects
Vitamin D3 at the recommended daily dose is generally well tolerated. Side effects are uncommon when taken as directed, but may include:
• Nausea or stomach discomfort
• Headache
• Loss of appetite
• Constipation or diarrhoea
• Signs of too much vitamin D (hypervitaminosis D) such as excessive thirst, frequent urination, or fatigue — usually only with very high doses taken over a prolonged period
If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.
⸻
Who Should Not Take This Medicine
• People with hypercalcaemia (too much calcium in the blood)
• People with hypercalciuria (too much calcium in the urine)
• People with a known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients
• People with conditions causing excess vitamin D, such as sarcoidosis
• People with kidney stones or severe kidney disease (unless under medical supervision)
• Children under 12 years of age (unless under medical supervision)
⸻
Interactions
Some medicines may interact with vitamin D3, including thiazide diuretics (water tablets), which can increase the risk of high calcium levels. Certain medicines used to treat epilepsy (such as phenytoin or phenobarbitone) and some cholesterol-lowering medicines (such as cholestyramine) may reduce the absorption or effectiveness of vitamin D3. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.
⸻
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Vitamin D is important during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and the NHS recommends a daily supplement of 10µg (400 IU) for all pregnant and breastfeeding women. This product provides a higher dose of 25µg (1000 IU), so it is important to discuss whether this level is appropriate for you. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
⸻
Alcohol
There is no known interaction between vitamin D3 supplementation and alcohol at moderate intake levels. However, excessive alcohol consumption can impair the body’s ability to absorb and process nutrients, including vitamin D, so it is advisable to keep alcohol intake within recommended limits.
⸻
Driving and Operating Machinery
Vitabiotics Ultra Vitamin D3 1000 IU tablets are not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. If you experience any unusual symptoms after taking this supplement, use caution and seek advice if needed.
⸻
Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the container tightly closed. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
