Solpadeine Plus Soluble Tablets are a combined pain relief medicine that dissolve in water for fast, effective relief from headaches, migraines, dental pain, period pain, rheumatic pain, and muscular aches. Each tablet contains three active ingredients — paracetamol, codeine phosphate, and caffeine — working together to provide stronger pain relief than paracetamol alone.

How It Works

Paracetamol blocks the production of chemicals in the body called prostaglandins, which cause pain and raise body temperature. Codeine phosphate is an opioid painkiller that acts on pain receptors in the brain and nervous system to reduce the feeling of pain. Caffeine helps to enhance the pain-relieving effects of the other two ingredients, making the combination more effective overall.

Directions for Use

Adults and adolescents aged 16 and over: dissolve 2 tablets in a glass of water and take every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Do not take more than 8 tablets in any 24-hour period. Leave at least 4 hours between doses. Do not use for more than 3 days without speaking to a doctor. This product is not suitable for children under 16 years of age. Possible Side Effects

• Dependence or withdrawal symptoms with prolonged use of codeine

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

• Children under 16 years of age
• People who are allergic to paracetamol, codeine, caffeine, or any other ingredient in the product
• People who are known to metabolise codeine very rapidly (ultra-rapid codeine metabolisers)
• Women who are breastfeeding
• People suffering from respiratory depression or breathing difficulties
• People with a head injury or raised intracranial pressure
• Anyone already taking other medicines containing paracetamol or codeine

Interactions

Solpadeine Plus Soluble may interact with other medicines, including other painkillers containing paracetamol or codeine, monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), medicines that cause drowsiness (such as sleeping tablets, antidepressants, or antihistamines), blood-thinning medicines such as warfarin, and medicines used to treat epilepsy. Caffeine may also interact with stimulant medicines or other caffeine-containing products. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Solpadeine Plus Soluble is not recommended during pregnancy, particularly in the third trimester, as codeine may cause breathing problems in the newborn. Codeine passes into breast milk and can cause serious harm to a breastfed baby, so this product must not be used by breastfeeding mothers. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

Alcohol

You should avoid drinking alcohol while taking Solpadeine Plus Soluble. Alcohol can increase the sedative effects of codeine, raising the risk of drowsiness and dizziness. Combining alcohol with paracetamol can also increase the risk of liver damage, particularly at higher doses or with regular use.

Driving and Operating Machinery

Codeine phosphate can cause drowsiness, dizziness, and impaired concentration, which may affect your ability to drive or use machinery safely. Do not drive or operate machinery if you feel drowsy or unwell after taking this medicine. The effects may be made worse by alcohol or other medicines that cause sedation.

Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
