Solpadeine Max Soluble Tablets are a strong painkiller used to relieve moderate to severe pain, including headaches, migraines, dental pain, period pain, and muscle aches. Each tablet is dissolved in water before drinking, making them easy to take and fast-acting.

How It Works

Solpadeine Max contains three active ingredients that work together. Paracetamol reduces pain and fever, codeine phosphate is an opioid painkiller that boosts the pain-relieving effect, and caffeine acts as a mild stimulant that further enhances how well the paracetamol works. Together, they provide stronger relief than paracetamol alone.

Directions for Use

Adults and young people aged 16 and over: dissolve 2 tablets in a glass of water and drink. This dose may be taken up to 4 times a day, leaving at least 4 hours between doses. Do not take more than 8 tablets in 24 hours. Do not use for more than 3 days without speaking to a doctor. This medicine is not suitable for children under 16 years of age. Possible Side Effects

• Drowsiness or dizziness
• Constipation
• Nausea or vomiting
• Headache (with prolonged use)
• Dependence or withdrawal symptoms with regular long-term use
• Allergic reactions such as skin rash or itching
• Difficulty sleeping (due to caffeine content)

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

• Children under 16 years of age
• People who are allergic to paracetamol, codeine, caffeine, or any other ingredient in the product
• People with severe liver or kidney problems
• People who have a condition where the bowel does not work properly (paralytic ileus)
• People who are known ultra-rapid metabolisers of codeine (a genetic condition)
• Breastfeeding mothers
• People with a history of opioid addiction or dependence

Interactions

Solpadeine Max may interact with other medicines containing paracetamol, other opioid painkillers, sedatives, sleeping tablets, antidepressants (including MAOIs and tricyclics), anticoagulants such as warfarin, and medicines that affect the liver. Caffeine can also interact with stimulant medicines. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Codeine should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Codeine passes into breast milk and can cause serious harm to a baby, particularly in mothers who are ultra-rapid metabolisers of codeine. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

Alcohol

You should avoid drinking alcohol while taking Solpadeine Max. Alcohol combined with codeine can increase the risk of drowsiness and dizziness, and combined with paracetamol may increase the risk of liver damage. Do not take this medicine if you regularly consume large amounts of alcohol.

Driving and Operating Machinery

Codeine can cause drowsiness, dizziness, and impaired concentration, which may affect your ability to drive or operate heavy machinery. Do not drive or use machinery if you feel affected. The caffeine content may also cause restlessness or difficulty sleeping in some people.

Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
