    Piriteze Hayfever & Allergy – 7 Tablets

Piriteze Hayfever & Allergy Tablets contain cetirizine hydrochloride, a non-drowsy antihistamine used to relieve the symptoms of hayfever and other allergies in adults and children aged 6 years and over. It helps with symptoms such as sneezing, itchy and watery eyes, a runny nose, and skin reactions like hives and itching.

    How It Works

Cetirizine works by blocking histamine receptors in the body. Histamine is a natural chemical released during an allergic reaction that causes familiar symptoms like sneezing, itching, and a runny nose. By blocking histamine, cetirizine helps to reduce these symptoms quickly and effectively, with relief lasting throughout the day from just one tablet.

    Directions for Use

Adults and children aged 12 years and over: take one 10 mg tablet once daily, swallowed whole with water. Children aged 6 to 11 years: half a tablet (5 mg) twice daily, or one tablet (10 mg) once daily — refer to the patient information leaflet for full details on the children’s dose. The tablet can be taken with or without food. Do not take more than the recommended dose. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Active Ingredients

    • Cetirizine hydrochloride 10 mg per tablet

    Possible Side Effects

    • Headache
    • Drowsiness or feeling tired
    • Dry mouth
    • Dizziness
    • Stomach discomfort or nausea
    • Sore throat
    • Skin reactions (in rare cases)

If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

    • People who are allergic to cetirizine hydrochloride, hydroxyzine, or any other ingredient in the tablet
    • Children under 6 years of age
    • People with severe kidney (renal) impairment
    • People who have been told to avoid taking antihistamines by their doctor

    Interactions

Cetirizine may interact with other medicines that cause drowsiness, such as sedatives, sleeping tablets, and some anxiety medicines, potentially increasing sedation. Theophylline (used for breathing conditions) may slightly reduce the clearance of cetirizine from the body. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Cetirizine is not recommended during pregnancy or whilst breastfeeding, as it can pass into breast milk and its safety in pregnancy has not been fully established. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

Although cetirizine is classed as a non-drowsy antihistamine, drinking alcohol whilst taking this medicine may increase the risk of drowsiness and impair your ability to concentrate. It is advisable to avoid alcohol or keep consumption to a minimum whilst taking Piriteze tablets.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Piriteze is considered a non-drowsy antihistamine; however, some people may still experience drowsiness, dizziness, or difficulty concentrating whilst taking cetirizine. If you are affected in any of these ways, do not drive or operate machinery until you know how this medicine affects you.

    Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
