Description
Otex Ear Drops Dual Action – 8ml
Otex Ear Drops Dual Action is a pharmacy medicine used to soften and remove excess ear wax. It is suitable for adults and children and helps relieve the discomfort, blocked feeling, and dulled hearing that can be caused by a build-up of wax in the ear canal.
⸻
How It Works
Otex Ear Drops Dual Action contains two active ingredients that work together. Urea hydrogen peroxide releases oxygen bubbles when it comes into contact with ear wax, gently breaking it down and loosening it from the ear canal. Glycerol acts as a lubricant and soothing agent, helping to soften the wax further and reduce any irritation, making it easier for the wax to naturally work its way out of the ear.
⸻
Directions for Use
For adults and children: tilt the head to one side and gently squeeze 5 drops into the affected ear. Keep the head tilted for a few minutes to allow the drops to work, then drain any excess onto a tissue. Use once or twice daily for up to 4 days. Do not use cotton buds to remove wax after use. If wax persists after 4 days, you may need ear syringing — speak to your GP or pharmacist. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

Possible Side Effects

• Mild stinging or a warm sensation in the ear canal after applying the drops
• Temporary fizzing or bubbling sensation (this is normal and indicates the drops are working)

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
There is limited specific data on the use of Otex Ear Drops Dual Action during pregnancy or breastfeeding. As the drops are applied topically into the ear and systemic absorption is minimal, they are generally considered low risk, but you should always seek guidance before using any medicine during this time. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
