Nurofen Pain Relief 200mg Tablets contain ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that provides effective relief from mild to moderate pain and helps reduce inflammation. They are suitable for adults and children aged 12 and over for the treatment of headaches, dental pain, period pain, back pain, rheumatic and muscular pain, migraine, cold and flu symptoms, and fever.
⸻
How It Works
Ibuprofen works by blocking the production of chemicals in the body called prostaglandins, which are responsible for causing pain, swelling, and fever. By reducing the levels of these chemicals, ibuprofen helps to relieve pain and inflammation at the source, providing effective symptomatic relief.
⸻
Directions for Use
Adults and young people aged 12 years and over should take 1 to 2 tablets (200mg–400mg) with water, up to three times a day as needed. Leave at least 4 hours between doses and do not take more than 3 doses (6 tablets) in any 24-hour period. These tablets are not recommended for children under 12 years of age. Take with or after food to help reduce the risk of stomach upset. Do not use for more than 3 days for fever or more than 10 days for pain without speaking to a doctor. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

Interactions
Ibuprofen may interact with anticoagulants (such as warfarin), aspirin, other NSAIDs, certain antidepressants (SSRIs), antihypertensives (blood pressure medicines), diuretics, lithium, methotrexate, and corticosteroids. Taking ibuprofen alongside other NSAIDs or aspirin increases the risk of gastrointestinal side effects and should generally be avoided. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.
⸻
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Ibuprofen should not be used during the third trimester of pregnancy as it may harm the unborn baby or cause complications during labour. It is generally not recommended during the first and second trimesters either unless advised by a doctor. Ibuprofen passes into breast milk in small amounts and is usually considered unsuitable during breastfeeding. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
⸻
Alcohol
Drinking alcohol whilst taking ibuprofen may increase the risk of stomach irritation and gastrointestinal bleeding. It is advisable to limit or avoid alcohol consumption while using this medicine, particularly if you are taking it regularly or at higher doses.

Nurofen Pain Relief 200mg Tablets are not generally expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery.
