Description
Nurofen Express Max Strength 400mg Liquid Capsules – 10 Pack
Nurofen Express Max Strength 400mg Liquid Capsules contain ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and are used to relieve pain and reduce inflammation. They are suitable for adults and adolescents aged 12 and over for conditions such as headaches, migraine, dental pain, period pain, muscular aches, and fever.
⸻
How It Works
Ibuprofen works by blocking the production of chemicals called prostaglandins, which the body releases in response to injury or illness to cause pain, swelling, and fever. By reducing prostaglandin production, ibuprofen helps to relieve pain, lower inflammation, and bring down a high temperature. The liquid-filled capsule formulation is designed to be absorbed quickly into the body, providing faster relief compared to standard ibuprofen tablets.
⸻
Directions for Use
Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over: take one or two 400mg capsules with a glass of water. Do not exceed two capsules (800mg) in any single dose. Leave at least four hours between doses and do not take more than three doses (1,200mg) in 24 hours. Always take ibuprofen with or after food or milk to reduce the risk of stomach upset. Do not use for more than three days for fever or ten days for pain without speaking to a doctor. This medicine is not suitable for children under 12 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

Interactions
Ibuprofen may interact with a number of medicines, including blood thinners (such as warfarin), aspirin, other NSAIDs, corticosteroids, certain antidepressants (SSRIs), blood pressure medicines, diuretics, lithium, methotrexate, and certain diabetes medications. Taking ibuprofen alongside other NSAIDs or aspirin (even at low doses) increases the risk of stomach side effects. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.
⸻
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Ibuprofen should not be taken during the last three months of pregnancy as it may harm the unborn baby. It should only be used with caution during the first six months of pregnancy, and only if clearly necessary. Ibuprofen passes into breast milk in small amounts and is generally considered acceptable for short-term use while breastfeeding, but caution is advised. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
⸻
Alcohol
Drinking alcohol while taking ibuprofen may increase your risk of stomach irritation and gastrointestinal bleeding. It is advisable to avoid or limit alcohol intake whilst taking this medicine. If you regularly drink alcohol, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist before use.
