    Nu-Seals Cardio 75 – 56 Tablets

Nu-Seals Cardio 75 tablets contain low-dose aspirin and are used to help prevent blood clots, reducing the risk of a heart attack or stroke in people who have already had one, or who are at high cardiovascular risk as advised by a doctor.

    How It Works

Aspirin belongs to a group of medicines called antiplatelet agents. It works by reducing the stickiness of platelets — tiny cells in your blood that clump together to form clots. By keeping platelets from clumping, aspirin helps to keep blood flowing freely through arteries and lowers the chance of a dangerous blockage.

    Directions for Use

The usual dose for adults is one 75 mg tablet taken once daily, swallowed whole with a full glass of water. Nu-Seals tablets have an enteric coating, so they should not be crushed or chewed — this coating protects the stomach lining. This medicine is not suitable for children under 16 years unless specifically directed by a doctor. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Active Ingredients

    • Aspirin 75 mg per enteric-coated tablet

    Possible Side Effects

    • Stomach upset, indigestion, or nausea
    • Stomach pain or discomfort
    • Increased tendency to bruise or bleed more easily
    • Prolonged bleeding from cuts
    • Rarely, stomach ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding
    • Allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching, or swelling
    • Headache or dizziness

If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

    • People who are allergic to aspirin, other NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen), or any other ingredient in the tablet
    • People with active stomach ulcers or a history of gastrointestinal bleeding
    • People with severe kidney, liver, or heart failure
    • Children and teenagers under 16 years (risk of Reye’s syndrome)
    • People with a bleeding disorder such as haemophilia
    • People taking methotrexate at doses greater than 15 mg per week
    • Those in the last trimester of pregnancy (unless specifically directed by a doctor)

    Interactions

Aspirin can interact with a number of medicines, including other anticoagulants or antiplatelet drugs (such as warfarin, clopidogrel, or apixaban), other NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen or naproxen), certain antidepressants (SSRIs), methotrexate, some diabetes medicines, and medicines used to treat gout. Taking aspirin alongside these medicines may increase the risk of bleeding or alter the effectiveness of treatment. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Low-dose aspirin should be avoided during the third trimester of pregnancy, as it may harm the unborn baby or cause complications during labour. During the first and second trimesters, it should only be used under medical supervision. Aspirin passes into breast milk and is generally not recommended whilst breastfeeding. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

Drinking alcohol whilst taking aspirin increases the risk of stomach irritation and gastrointestinal bleeding. It is advisable to limit or avoid alcohol whilst taking this medicine, particularly if you have a history of stomach problems.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Nu-Seals Cardio 75 tablets are not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. However, if you experience dizziness or any other side effect that affects your alertness, do not drive or use machinery until you feel well again.

    Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep in the original packaging to protect the tablets from light and humidity. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
