    Description

Nicotinell Mint 2mg Medicated Chewing Gum – 204 Pieces

Nicotinell Mint 2mg Medicated Chewing Gum is a nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) product designed to help you stop smoking or reduce the number of cigarettes you smoke. Each piece of gum contains 2mg of nicotine, making it suitable for people who smoke fewer than 20 cigarettes per day or who are working towards quitting gradually.

    How It Works

When you chew the gum, nicotine is slowly released and absorbed through the lining of your mouth, entering your bloodstream. This helps to reduce the cravings and unpleasant withdrawal symptoms — such as irritability, anxiety, and difficulty concentrating — that can make giving up smoking so difficult. By providing a controlled, lower dose of nicotine without the harmful chemicals found in cigarette smoke, NRT helps you manage your addiction and gradually wean yourself off nicotine altogether.

    Directions for Use

Nicotinell gum should be used with the “chew and rest” technique: chew the gum slowly until you notice a strong taste or tingling sensation, then rest it between your cheek and gum until the sensation fades, then chew again. Repeat this process for approximately 30 minutes. Adults and young people aged 12 and over who smoke fewer than 20 cigarettes a day should use the 2mg gum. Use one piece whenever you feel the urge to smoke; most people use 8–12 pieces per day, and you should not exceed 25 pieces in 24 hours. Treatment is typically recommended for up to 3 months, then gradually reduced. This product is not recommended for children under 12 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Interactions

Stopping smoking — with or without NRT — may affect how certain medicines work in your body. Medicines that may be affected include theophylline, clozapine, ropinirole, and warfarin, among others, as stopping smoking can alter the rate at which your body breaks down these drugs. Your doctor may need to monitor you and adjust your doses accordingly. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Stopping smoking is the single best thing you can do for your health and your baby’s health during pregnancy and breastfeeding. If you are unable to stop smoking without help, NRT is considered safer than continuing to smoke, but it should only be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding under the guidance of a healthcare professional. Intermittent-dose forms of NRT (such as gum) are generally preferred over patches during pregnancy where possible, as they limit overall nicotine exposure. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

There is no known direct interaction between Nicotinell Mint gum and alcohol. However, it is worth noting that drinking alcohol can sometimes trigger cravings to smoke, which may make it harder to stick to your quit attempt. If you have any concerns, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Nicotinell Mint 2mg Medicated Chewing Gum is not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. Dizziness has been reported as a side effect in some people; if you feel dizzy after use, do not drive or operate machinery until you feel well again.

    Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
