Description
Nexium Control For Heartburn and Acid Reflux – 7 Tablets
Nexium Control tablets contain esomeprazole 20 mg and are used to relieve the symptoms of frequent heartburn and acid reflux in adults. They provide up to 24-hour protection from the burning sensation in the chest and throat caused by excess stomach acid.
⸻
How It Works
Esomeprazole belongs to a group of medicines called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). It works by blocking the tiny pumps in the lining of your stomach that produce acid, reducing the amount of acid made and allowing irritated tissues to heal. It may take 2–3 days of treatment before you notice the full benefit.
⸻
Directions for Use
Adults aged 18 and over should take one 20 mg tablet once daily, swallowed whole with water, at least one hour before eating. The tablet should not be chewed or crushed. Do not take more than one tablet per day, and do not take continuously for more than 14 days without speaking to a doctor. This medicine is not suitable for children under 18 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.
⸻

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Nexium Control is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, as there is limited information on the safety of esomeprazole in these situations. It is not known whether esomeprazole passes into breast milk. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
⸻
Alcohol
There is no direct interaction between esomeprazole and alcohol; however, alcohol can irritate the stomach lining and worsen heartburn and acid reflux symptoms. It is advisable to limit alcohol consumption while taking this medicine to help manage your symptoms more effectively.
⸻

Nexium Control is unlikely to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. However, in rare cases, some people may experience dizziness or visual disturbances. If you are affected in this way, do not drive or operate machinery until you feel well again.
