Description
Nexium Control For Heartburn and Acid Reflux – 14 Tablets
Nexium Control contains esomeprazole 20 mg, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to relieve the symptoms of heartburn and acid reflux in adults. It helps to reduce the burning sensation in the chest and the uncomfortable feeling of acid coming back up into the throat.
⸻
How It Works
Esomeprazole works by blocking the “proton pumps” in the lining of your stomach — these are the tiny mechanisms responsible for producing stomach acid. By reducing the amount of acid your stomach makes, esomeprazole helps to ease the irritation and discomfort caused by heartburn and acid reflux. It does not work immediately; it may take 2–3 days to feel the full benefit.
⸻
Directions for Use
Nexium Control is for use by adults aged 18 years and over. Take one 20 mg tablet once daily, swallowed whole with a glass of water. Do not chew or crush the tablet. The tablet should ideally be taken at the same time each day, and may be taken with or without food, though taking it before a meal may improve its effect. Do not take more than one tablet per day, and do not use for longer than 14 days without speaking to a doctor. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

⸻
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
The safety of esomeprazole during pregnancy has not been fully established, and it is not recommended for use during pregnancy unless prescribed by a doctor. It is not known whether esomeprazole passes into breast milk, so use during breastfeeding is not recommended without medical supervision. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
⸻
Alcohol
There is no direct interaction between esomeprazole and alcohol; however, alcohol can irritate the stomach lining and worsen heartburn and acid reflux symptoms. It is advisable to limit alcohol intake while experiencing reflux symptoms to help your recovery.
⸻
Driving and Operating Machinery
Nexium Control is not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. However, some people may occasionally experience dizziness or visual disturbances as a side effect. If you are affected in this way, do not drive or operate machinery until you feel well again.
⸻
