    Description

    Infacol Colic Relief – 85ml

Infacol Colic Relief is a gentle, sugar-free liquid designed to relieve infant colic, griping pain, and trapped wind. It is suitable for use from birth and can be given before each feed to help reduce discomfort caused by gas build-up in your baby’s tummy.

    How It Works

The active ingredient, simeticone, is an anti-foaming agent that works by bringing together the small gas bubbles trapped in your baby’s digestive system, forming larger bubbles that are easier to bring up or pass. This helps to relieve the pressure and discomfort associated with colic and wind. Simeticone is not absorbed into the body, so it works locally in the gut and passes through the system harmlessly.

    Directions for Use

Infacol is given to infants before each feed. The recommended dose is 0.5 ml (one full dropper) before each feed. The dose can be increased to 1 ml if needed. Use the dropper provided to place the liquid directly into your baby’s mouth. It is important to use Infacol consistently before every feed to get the best results, as the effect builds up over time. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Active Ingredients

    • Simeticone 40 mg per 1 ml

    Possible Side Effects

Infacol is generally very well tolerated. Side effects are rare, but may include:
    • Mild allergic reactions such as skin rash
    • Loose stools in some infants

If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

    • Infants known to be allergic to simeticone or any other ingredient in the product
    • Do not use if your baby has a known intestinal obstruction or any other serious digestive condition without first consulting a doctor
    • If your baby’s symptoms are severe or persistent, always seek medical advice before continuing use

    Interactions

Simeticone is not known to interact significantly with other medicines, as it is not absorbed into the bloodstream. No clinically significant drug interactions have been reported. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Infacol Colic Relief is intended for use in infants rather than adults. However, as it is given to babies who may be breastfed, it is reassuring to know that simeticone is not absorbed into the body and is considered safe for infants from birth. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

Infacol Colic Relief does not contain alcohol and there are no known interactions with alcohol. This product is intended for infant use.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Infacol Colic Relief is formulated for infant use and does not cause drowsiness or any effects that would impact the ability to drive or operate machinery. This is not applicable in the context of infant use.
