    Description

    Ibuprofen 400mg Max Strength – 24 Tablets

Ibuprofen 400mg Max Strength Tablets are a powerful over-the-counter painkiller and anti-inflammatory medicine. They are used to relieve a wide range of conditions including back pain, period pain, toothache, headache, migraine, muscle and joint pain, sprains, strains, neuralgia, and rheumatic pain, as well as reducing fever.

    How It Works

Ibuprofen belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by blocking the production of prostaglandins — natural chemicals in the body that cause pain, swelling, and fever — helping to reduce discomfort and inflammation at the source.

    Directions for Use

For adults and young people aged 12 years and over: take one tablet (400mg) up to three times a day as needed. Leave at least four to six hours between doses and do not exceed three tablets (1,200mg) in any 24-hour period. Swallow tablets whole with a full glass of water and take with or after food to reduce the risk of stomach upset. This medicine is not suitable for children under 12 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Interactions

Ibuprofen may interact with a number of medicines, including blood thinners (such as warfarin), aspirin, other NSAIDs, certain antidepressants (SSRIs), blood pressure medicines, diuretics, lithium, methotrexate, and corticosteroids. Taking ibuprofen alongside these medicines may increase the risk of side effects or reduce effectiveness. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Ibuprofen should not be taken during the third trimester of pregnancy (from 28 weeks onwards) as it may harm the unborn baby. Use during the first and second trimesters should be avoided unless advised by a doctor. Ibuprofen passes into breast milk in small amounts and is generally not recommended during breastfeeding. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

Drinking alcohol while taking ibuprofen can increase the risk of stomach irritation and bleeding. It is advisable to keep alcohol consumption to a minimum or avoid it altogether whilst taking this medicine.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Ibuprofen 400mg tablets do not usually affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. However, if you experience dizziness or any other side effects that affect your concentration or alertness, do not drive or use machinery until you feel well again.
