    Description

    Ibuprofen 400mg Max Strength – 48 Tablets

Ibuprofen 400mg Max Strength Tablets are a powerful over-the-counter painkiller and anti-inflammatory, used to relieve a wide range of conditions including back pain, period pain, toothache, headache, migraine, muscle and joint pain, sprains, strains, and fever.

    How It Works

Ibuprofen belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by blocking the production of chemicals in the body called prostaglandins, which are responsible for causing pain, inflammation, and fever. By reducing prostaglandin levels, ibuprofen helps to relieve discomfort and bring down swelling.

    Directions for Use

For adults and young people aged 12 years and over: take one tablet (400mg) up to three times a day. Leave at least four to six hours between doses and do not take more than three tablets (1,200mg) in 24 hours. Swallow tablets whole with a full glass of water and take with or after food to help protect your stomach. This medicine is not suitable for children under 12 years of age. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Ibuprofen is generally not recommended during pregnancy, especially from 20 weeks onwards, as it may harm the unborn baby. It should be avoided completely from 28 weeks of pregnancy. Ibuprofen passes into breast milk in small amounts and is generally considered unsuitable during breastfeeding. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

Drinking alcohol whilst taking ibuprofen increases the risk of stomach irritation and gastrointestinal bleeding. It is advisable to avoid or minimise alcohol consumption while taking this medicine, particularly if you are taking it regularly or at the maximum dose.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Ibuprofen at standard doses is not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. However, if you experience dizziness or any other side effects that affect your alertness, do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you feel well again.
