    Description

    Ibuprofen 200mg – 84 Tablets

Ibuprofen 200mg Tablets are a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve mild to moderate pain, reduce inflammation, and lower fever. They are suitable for treating a wide range of conditions including headache, migraine, back pain, period pain, toothache, cold and flu symptoms, and muscle or joint pain caused by sprains and strains.

    How It Works

Ibuprofen works by blocking the production of chemicals called prostaglandins in the body. Prostaglandins are responsible for causing pain, swelling, and fever, so by reducing their production, ibuprofen helps to relieve discomfort, decrease inflammation, and bring down a high temperature.

    Directions for Use

Adults and young people aged 12 years and over: take 1 or 2 tablets (200mg–400mg) up to 3 times a day as needed. Leave at least 4 hours between doses. Do not take more than 3 doses (1,200mg) in any 24-hour period. Take each tablet with a glass of water and, if possible, with or after food to reduce the chance of stomach upset. Do not use in children under 12 years without medical advice. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

Taking ibuprofen alongside other pain relief medicines or anti-inflammatory drugs increases the risk of side effects. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Ibuprofen should not be taken during the third trimester of pregnancy as it may harm the unborn baby. It is generally not recommended during the first and second trimesters either, and use should be avoided unless advised by a doctor. Ibuprofen passes into breast milk in small amounts and is generally not recommended whilst breastfeeding. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

Drinking alcohol whilst taking ibuprofen can increase the risk of stomach irritation and gastrointestinal bleeding. It is advisable to avoid or limit alcohol consumption whilst taking this medicine, particularly if you are taking it regularly or at higher doses.

Ibuprofen is not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery in most people. However, if you experience dizziness or any other side effects that affect your concentration or alertness, do not drive or operate machinery and seek advice from your PillSorted pharmacist.
