    Hayfever Relief Allergy Eye Drops 2% w/v – 10ml

Hayfever Relief Allergy Eye Drops 2% w/v contain sodium cromoglicate and are used to relieve the eye symptoms associated with hayfever and other allergies, such as itching, redness, and watering of the eyes.

    How It Works

Sodium cromoglicate is an antiallergic medicine that works by stabilising the cells in your eyes that release histamine and other chemicals responsible for allergic reactions. By preventing these chemicals from being released, the drops help to reduce itching, redness, and watering caused by hayfever and other allergic conditions.

    Directions for Use

Adults and children aged 6 years and over: instil 1–2 drops into each affected eye, four times a day. The drops should be used regularly throughout the allergy season for the best effect, even when symptoms feel under control. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Active Ingredients

    • Sodium cromoglicate 2% w/v (20 mg per ml)

    Possible Side Effects

    • Temporary stinging or burning sensation in the eyes immediately after use
    • Transient blurring of vision
    • Eye irritation or discomfort
    • Watering of the eyes

If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

    • People who are allergic to sodium cromoglicate or any other ingredient in the drops
    • Children under 6 years of age (unless advised by a doctor)
    • People who wear soft (hydrophilic) contact lenses — remove lenses before use and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting

    Interactions

Sodium cromoglicate eye drops are not known to interact significantly with other medicines when used as directed. However, if you are using any other eye drops or eye preparations, leave at least 5 minutes between applying each product. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Sodium cromoglicate eye drops are generally considered to have a low risk of systemic absorption when used as directed, but there is limited clinical data on their use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

There is no known interaction between alcohol and sodium cromoglicate eye drops. This medicine is applied directly to the eye and is not significantly absorbed into the bloodstream, so alcohol is not expected to affect how the drops work.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

These eye drops may cause temporary blurring of vision immediately after use. Do not drive or operate machinery until your vision is completely clear. The drops do not cause drowsiness.

    Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. Once opened, the drops should be used within 28 days — discard any remaining solution after this period. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
