    Description

Flowflex Antigen Rapid Covid Lateral Flow Test – 5 Tests

The Flowflex Antigen Rapid COVID-19 Lateral Flow Test is a quick, easy-to-use home test that detects whether you currently have a COVID-19 infection. This pack contains 5 individual tests, giving you results in as little as 15 minutes without needing any additional equipment or laboratory analysis.

    How It Works

The test works by detecting specific proteins (antigens) produced by the SARS-CoV-2 virus — the virus that causes COVID-19. A nasal swab sample is mixed with a testing solution and applied to the lateral flow strip, which displays a visible result line if viral antigens are present, similar to how a pregnancy test works. A positive result indicates that the COVID-19 virus is likely active in your body at the time of testing.

    Directions for Use

This test is suitable for adults and children aged 2 years and over (children should be tested by an adult). Gently swab the inside of both nostrils as directed, dip the swab into the pre-filled vial of extraction solution, and apply a few drops to the sample well on the test device. Read your result after 15 minutes — do not read after 30 minutes as this may give an inaccurate result. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Active Ingredients

This is a diagnostic device, not a medicine. It does not contain pharmacologically active ingredients. The test strip contains:
    • Anti-SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein antibodies (for antigen detection)
    • Gold-conjugated antibodies (detection reagent in the test strip)
    • Extraction buffer solution (provided in the pre-filled vial)

    Possible Side Effects

As a diagnostic device rather than a medicine, this product does not cause pharmacological side effects. However, you should be aware of the following:
    • Mild nasal discomfort or irritation during swabbing
    • In rare cases, minor nosebleeds may occur if swabbing is too vigorous
    • False positive or false negative results may occur — a negative result does not completely rule out COVID-19 infection
If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

This test is not suitable for or should be used with caution in the following circumstances:
    • Children under 2 years of age
    • People with a known allergy to any component of the test kit
    • The test should not be used as a sole diagnostic tool — a positive result should be confirmed with a PCR test where required
    • Do not use if the packaging is damaged or the expiry date has passed
    • Not intended for professional clinical diagnostic use in a healthcare setting without appropriate training

    Interactions

As a diagnostic device, the Flowflex test does not interact with medicines, foods, or supplements in a pharmacological sense. However, certain nasal sprays or substances applied directly to the nose shortly before testing may potentially affect the accuracy of your result — allow some time after using nasal products before swabbing. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

The Flowflex lateral flow test is a diagnostic device and is safe to use during pregnancy and whilst breastfeeding, as it does not involve ingesting or absorbing any substance into the body. If you test positive for COVID-19 and are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is important to seek prompt medical advice regarding appropriate management. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

There is no interaction between alcohol consumption and the use of this diagnostic test device. Alcohol does not affect the accuracy of the test result, as the test detects viral proteins from a nasal swab sample rather than from blood or breath.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

The Flowflex COVID-19 lateral flow test is a diagnostic device and does not contain any active pharmacological ingredients. It has no effect on your ability to drive or operate machinery. However, if you feel unwell with COVID-19 symptoms, you should consider whether it is safe to drive before doing so.

    Storage

Store the Flowflex test kits at room temperature between 2°C and 30°C, in a dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Do not freeze the test kits or the extraction buffer solution. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
