    Description

Daktarin (Miconazole) Aktiv Cream – 30g

Daktarin Aktiv Cream is a medicated antifungal cream used to treat athlete’s foot (tinea pedis). It contains miconazole nitrate, which works to clear the fungal infection whilst also soothing and moisturising the affected skin.

    How It Works

Miconazole nitrate belongs to a group of medicines called azole antifungals. It works by damaging the cell membranes of the fungi causing the infection, preventing them from growing and multiplying. Miconazole also has antibacterial properties, helping to tackle any secondary bacterial infections that can occur alongside athlete’s foot.

    Directions for Use

Apply the cream to the affected area of skin twice daily, morning and evening. Continue treatment for 10 days after symptoms have cleared to prevent the infection returning. Wash and dry the feet thoroughly before applying the cream, paying particular attention to the areas between the toes. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Possible Side Effects

Although this cream is applied to the skin, small amounts of miconazole may be absorbed into the body. Miconazole can potentially interact with anticoagulants such as warfarin, increasing the risk of bleeding, as well as certain medicines used to lower blood sugar. Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

The safety of miconazole cream during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been fully established. If you are breastfeeding, avoid applying the cream to the breast area. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
