    Description

Canesten Dual Action Cream – 15g

Canesten Dual Action Cream is an antifungal treatment containing 1% clotrimazole, used to treat athlete’s foot (tinea pedis) and other fungal skin infections. It helps relieve the itching, burning, and cracking associated with athlete’s foot while also providing antibacterial action.

    How It Works

Clotrimazole works by disrupting the cell membrane of the fungus, causing it to leak and die. This stops the fungal infection from spreading and allows the skin to heal. The cream also has some antibacterial properties, helping to prevent secondary bacterial infections that can develop alongside fungal infections.

    Directions for Use

Adults and children aged 12 and over: apply a thin layer of cream to the affected area and the surrounding skin two to three times daily. Gently rub in the cream and continue treatment for at least four weeks, even if symptoms improve earlier, to ensure the infection is fully cleared. The cream is for external use on the skin only — avoid contact with the eyes. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Canesten Dual Action Cream is generally considered low risk when used topically during pregnancy, as absorption through the skin is minimal. However, caution is advised during the first trimester. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.
