    Bronchostop Cough Syrup – 120ml

Bronchostop Cough Syrup is a traditional herbal remedy used to relieve both dry and chesty coughs in adults and children aged 12 and over. It combines two natural herbal ingredients to help soothe throat irritation and loosen mucus.

    How It Works

Bronchostop Cough Syrup contains marshmallow root and thyme, which work together to tackle different types of cough. Marshmallow root forms a soothing coating over the throat to reduce irritation and calm a dry, tickly cough, while thyme helps to loosen and clear mucus, making it easier to cough up when you have a chesty cough.

    Directions for Use

Adults and children aged 12 and over should take 1 tablespoon (15 ml) up to 5 times a day. The syrup can be taken directly or diluted in a small amount of warm water. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Always read the patient information leaflet before use. If you are unsure about the correct dose, speak to your PillSorted pharmacist.

    Active Ingredients

    • Marshmallow root dry extract (Althaea officinalis L., radix) — 150 mg per 15 ml dose
    • Thyme liquid extract (Thymus vulgaris L., herba) — 1.5 ml per 15 ml dose

    Possible Side Effects

    • Allergic reactions (such as skin rash, itching, or swelling) — particularly in those with known sensitivities to plants in the Lamiaceae family (e.g. thyme) or Malvaceae family (e.g. marshmallow)
    • Nausea or stomach upset
    • Hypersensitivity reactions in rare cases

If you experience any serious side effects, stop taking this medicine and seek medical advice immediately.

Who Should Not Take This Medicine

    • Children under 12 years of age (Bronchostop Junior is available for children aged 1–12)
    • Anyone with a known allergy to marshmallow root, thyme, or related plants
    • Anyone with a known allergy to any other ingredient in the product
    • Pregnant or breastfeeding women (see Pregnancy and Breastfeeding section below)

    Interactions

No significant drug interactions have been formally established with Bronchostop Cough Syrup. However, as marshmallow root may form a coating along the digestive tract, it could potentially slow the absorption of other medicines taken at the same time — it is advisable to take other medicines at least 30 minutes before taking Bronchostop. Tell your PillSorted pharmacist or doctor about all medicines you are currently taking, including herbal remedies and supplements.

    Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

The safety of Bronchostop Cough Syrup during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been established. It is therefore not recommended for use during pregnancy or whilst breastfeeding. Speak to your doctor or PillSorted pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding.

    Alcohol

Bronchostop Cough Syrup does not contain alcohol and there are no known interactions with alcohol. However, as a general precaution, excessive alcohol consumption is not recommended when you are unwell or taking any medicine.

    Driving and Operating Machinery

Bronchostop Cough Syrup is not known to cause drowsiness or to impair your ability to drive or operate machinery. However, if you feel unwell due to your cough or cold, consider whether it is safe to drive before doing so.

    Storage

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. Once opened, use within 3 months. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging.
